Growing Process
Our microgreens are grown indoors in a carefully controlled environment using hydroponic flood and drain systems. Light, airflow and humidity are managed to maintain clean growing conditions and consistent quality year round.
Seeds are grown on natural coco coir using full spectrum LED lighting and clean water irrigation, without added fertilisers or pesticides. Trays are germinated in darkness before moving under lights to develop strong, healthy growth.
All microgreens are hand harvested on the morning of delivery and packed immediately to ensure maximum freshness and shelf life in service. Larger orders are supplied in reusable containers where possible to reduce packaging waste.

About Us
The co-founders of Hy-Gro Hydroponics met at the University of Glasgow while studying Genetics, and later continued into a master's in Biotechnology & Management.
Through years of conversations during labs and project work, they developed a shared interest in plants, hydroponics, and building something that could deliver practical environmental and food-system benefits.
During their master's year, the foundation for the business was set. Despite early pandemic setbacks, they launched through microgreens as a focused and scalable entry point into the market.
